Scotiabank’s Rising Leader Mentorship program is designed for second year university students, enrolled in business or STEM programs that have a passion for Capital Markets. Our program supports and develops women early in their academic career by providing exposure, insights and opportunities to learn about Capital Markets from experienced professionals.
The mentorship program will run from August 2019 to May 2020. During this program mentees will meet with their mentors on a regular basis to discuss the topic of the month and have the opportunity to attend group program sessions focused on providing learning and development opportunities. Discussion topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Introduction to Capital Markets
- Networking best practices
- Elevator pitch
- Resume and Interview workshops
Mentees will also have the opportunity to engage with senior leaders to discover different career path opportunities within Capital Markets.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are interested in key mentorship, learning and development opportunities within capital markets! Top candidates will demonstrate a high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts, with an interest in the financial markets. To qualify as a Mentee you must:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a Canadian university
- Entering into your second year of study in September 2019
- Have a passion or interest in learning about capital markets and finance
- A track record of success in academics and extracurricular achievements
- Be available for monthly meetings and program sessions in person or by phone with your assigned mentor(s).

This program is open to students across Canada at select Universities. Due to the geographically concentrated nature of the industry, geographic proximity between mentors and mentees may not always be feasible, but will be prioritized wherever possible.
